Starbucks Branding & College Campus Facilities: What’s the Connection?

The Campus of Miami Dade College has set out on the difficult journey of redesigning their campus leaning spaces. However, their inspiration is an unusual one.

Miami Dade College has decided to model their campus redesign after Starbucks- but not the coffee;  Starbucks the brand and what it stands for. “A cup of Starbucks coffee gave comfort and status.” That is what MDC wishes to create for their students, along with a menu of classrooms and study spaces students can choose from. Kind of like how you can choose your favorite coffee off a Starbucks menu, students and faculty will be able to choose an academic space based on comfort, size and technological capabilities.
