Social Media Strategies for Recruiting Retention

This image courtesy of "The Money Times"We all know that social networking is a great tool for recruiting students and has been for some time now, but can it also be used to aid retention?  With some schools facing drop-out rates as high as 50%, many schools are turning to a familiar tool to decrease student turnover.  According to NPR, many colleges are going outside the box and using social networks to help improve student engagement and retention.  While many of these institutions found Facebook to be inaccessible, some of them are turning to more intimate networks such as Inigral .  What are some ways your college or university has used social networking to improve engagement?
